2. He was RIGHTEOUS, faithful to the law (Matthew 1:19)
3. He was MERCIFUL, as he could have had Mary stoned for adultery (Matthew 1:19)
4. He was GRACIOUS, as he could have divorced Mary but remained married (Matthew 1:19)
5. He had SACRIFICIAL LOVE, being willing to divorce Mary quietly (Matthew 1:19)
6. He LISTENED TO GOD (Matthew 1:20-21)
7. He OBEYED GOD (Matthew 1:24)
8. He was a MAN OF FAITH, obeying the angels from God in his dreams (Matthew 1:20)
9. He was HUMBLE, marrying Mary no matter what others may have thought (Matthew 1:24)
10. He had SELF-CONTROL, not consummating the marriage until after Mary gave birth to Jesus (Matthew 1:25)
11. He PROTECTED HIS FAMILY, fleeing to Egypt from Herod (Matthew 2:14)
12. He PROVIDED FOR HIS FAMILY, seeking out alternative shelter when the inn was full (Luke 2:7)
13. He RAISED HIS FAMILY in the best place that God desired (Matthew 2:19)
14. He was DUTIFUL TO THE GOVERNMENT (Luke 2:1-5)
15. He KEPT GOD’S WORD (Luke 2:21-24)
16. He STEPPED UP TO BE A FATHER (Luke 2:33)
17. He was UNSELFISH as he could have divorced and abandoned (Matthew 2:13-14)
18. He MODELED WORSHIP to his wife and child (Luke 2:41-42)
19. He WORKED HARD for his family as a carpenter (Matthew 13:35)
20. He TAUGHT HIS SON A TRADE (Mark 6:3)
21. He MADE WISE DECISIONS about being a husband, father, listening to the Lord, etc. (Matthew 1:20)
22. He DID NOT PROCRASTINATE but was decisive in following the Lord’s commands (Matthew 2:14)

We need more men with the character of Joseph!

We see all this in his actions, as there isn’t a recorded word of Joseph in the Bible.
