One morning I made homemade waffles for Tate. As I was pouring syrup on them, his eyes lit up and he was humming in anticipation. From the other room, Haley asked if he was enjoying them as she heard him humming that loud! His expectation was BIG. He could taste it was good prior to eating because he had experienced it before. He already knew the goodness that was waiting on him. All he had to do was eat. He hummed through the whole thing!
Lord, may I be that expectant for Your goodness. May my desire for You be evident to all! May my life hum with excitement and anticipation and may my countenance visibly display the joy of You before I even taste what You’ve done because I already know You are good. May we feast on the goodness of the Lord TODAY and not just talk about the meals from days gone by.
Isn’t it time to be hungry for the Lord once again?
Psalm 34:8 says, “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
