Reading the Bible every day has been a habit of mine for years. I look forward to each morning, midday, and evening. Whether it’s one verse or many, you’ll be blessed when you do. I can’t grow with the Lord apart from His Word.
What do I do?
- I read a chapter of Proverbs in the morning that correspond with the day – Today was Proverbs 23
- I read 5 chapters of Psalms in the morning. Start with the day and add 30 5x – Today was Psalm 23, 53, 83, 113, and 143
- Around midday, I read 3 chapters of the OT – Today will be Jeremiah 23-25
- In the evening, I read a chapter of the NT – Today will be Hebrew 9
TIPS
- Pray before and after, asking God to reveal His truth and put it into practice.
-Spend a few minutes meditating on some verses that stuck out.
-Cut out the distractions (phone, TV, get alone, etc.)
-Write down a key verse from all your reading you want to memorize.
-Talk about that one verse with multiple people that day
-Read it out loud at times – this will really boost your reading time.
