While not a Christ-centered song played at Christmas, “Winter Wonderland” is a favorite – and can point us to Jesus. It reminds me of childhood play in the snow with my family and friends. It reminds me when kids played outside, used their imaginations, and created fun. It reminds me while winter may seem gloomy as it takes away the flowers and causes birds to migrate, spring is coming – this season in creation reminds us of the hope who is Christ and has come to lift our burdens, walk with us in dark times, and give us joy for sadness. He removes our sins and makes all things new! We are new creations in Him! May we rejoice when snow comes – “though our sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18).
