On Revival…

Tonight, there was a sweet spirit of the beginnings of revival during a church prayer meeting. The Spirit moved as we worshipped, read the Word, prayed, and sought the Lord. There was confession of sin. People were on their knees praying, crying out to the Lord. People lingered at the altar. I openly repented of jealousy of something that happened to another church. Another confessed a lack of trust in the Lord’s provision and then testified how God miraculously provided. A man testified to how God was healing his daughter. A woman read Scripture and asked for prayer for a tough season for her daughters. A couple was transparent in their struggles with adoption, and we trusted God for wisdom and finances. A woman encouraged others to reach out to others and to allow the Holy Spirit to lead them to share the gospel and bring encouragement. A man testified about the peace of God for a situation. We prayed for healing. We asked God to give us boldness to share the gospel. We sought the Lord’s presence, and he showed up!

Weeping, transparency, confession, repentance, humility, rejoicing, testifying, praising, worshipping and more…elements of revival but of how the body of Christ should be weekly…daily…all the time. Jesus, bring revival in our lives, in our church, and in our city. Don’t let us get in the way and mess this up. Lord, I’m excited for what’s ahead. Let revival come!
