I’ve had multiple opportunities to share the gospel with the crew while serving on this marriage cruise.
Moses is from Kenya. He went to a Christian school but isn’t a believer. He’s heard the gospel many times before. He’s read the Bible, Qur’an, and the Bhagavad Gita. He’s confused and searching for truth.
Idi is also from Kenya. He knows many Scriptures and was heavily influenced by the false prosperity gospel. When his wife died last year back home while he was on the ship, his “faith was wrecked in a God who was supposed to always heal, bless, and highly favor” (his words). Working this marriage cruise is hard for him. He needs Jesus to heal his brokenness and sorrow.
Eric is from Miami. He told me he was a pro basketball player for the Miami Heat (no NBA stats for him; his age and Heat’s age would have him playing in his 40s), studied at the Vatican (didn’t know it was surrounded by a wall), had a doctorate in Hebrew (he failed my basic Hebrew quiz), and a lot of other “impress you” things. God loves you and sees the real you. You’re identity can be in Christ.
Frazier has worked at the port for 13 years and is from Miami. He’s skeptical of Christians but wants true religion and faith.
Jurgen is from South Africa. It’s his 2nd day at work. He flew into in Puerto Rico and is on board 7 months to provide for his wife and 2 kids. He really hates being on this ship as he misses his family. I helped him find his way around as I know the ship better at this point. He wondered why he was on board. I know…It was his first time to hear the Good News.
All have heard the gospel. I pray all receive Jesus and are saved. Will you pray for them with me? Pray for more Gospel shares.
