JOY 365: Day 13
May the nations be glad and sing for joy, -Psalm 67:4
Today I traveled with several pastors from Arkansas and Texas to South Florida to visit 21 international church planters. Pastors from Brazil, the Slavic world, Haiti, Cuba, and other nations are seeking gospel partners to pray, send missions teams, and provide resources as they reach nearly 8 million people across three counties of Florida. As we walked and prayed across the University of Miami, we were told that only 178 of 13,000 students consider themselves Christian! What a mission field! My goal is to share this with our church and take our first team this fall to partner with a couple of these churches.
Many factors have brought the nations near to us like never before. We will still send people to other countries, but what an opportunity to share Jesus with the nations closer to home! You don’t always have to travel around the world to reach the world. Seeing many nations tonight reminded me that heaven will be full of people from every tribe, tongue, and nation that respond in faith to the gospel. Psalm 67:4 asks for the nations to be glad and sing for joy. Jesus, may every nation break out in revival and come near to you! I pray for Iran tonight as hundreds, maybe thousands, who don’t know Christ have been slaughtered in recent days by their military. May this break our hearts and cause us to go share the good news with the world (Mark 16:15).
Who do you know from another nation that needs to hear the gospel?
